Torriden BALANCEFUL Cica Range Explained
BALANCEFUL is Torriden's green centella range, and Torriden's US site lists five centella-derived ingredients in its serum, Control Serum and cream.
Where to buy & UK pricesWhat BALANCEFUL Is
BALANCEFUL is the Torriden line built around centella asiatica, often called cica. On Torriden's US website it covers serums, a cream, toner products, cleansers, masks and a spot patch, and the brand says its products use "5 types of centella asiatica extract ingredients". It is packaged in light green on the US site; packaging may differ in the UK.
This page is for you if you are comparing the range before buying: what each product contains, how the brand describes it, and what UK shops charged on 19 October 2026. This site does not publish user ratings or run its own tests: we look at ingredients, the brand's information and UK shop prices.
The BALANCEFUL products on Torriden's US site
- Serum (50 ml) and Control Serum (50 ml)
- Cream (80 ml)
- Toner Pad (180 ml) and Peeling Toner (250 ml)
- Cleansing Gel (200 ml), Cleansing Foam (150 ml) and Control Pack Cleanser (120 g)
- Mask (25 ml), Control Mask (24 ml), Azelaic Acid Mask (20 ml) and an Azelaic Acid Micropoint Spot Patch
- A Modeling Pack (30 g) and a Trial Kit
Sizes are as shown on the product pages at torriden.us. Not every item is sold in the UK: in the UK shop lists we checked, we did not see the Peeling Toner, Cleansing Foam, Control Mask, Azelaic Acid Mask, Spot Patch or Modeling Pack. For where the rest of Torriden fits, see how the Torriden ranges differ.
The Five Centella Ingredients
Torriden's US ingredient lists show five centella-derived ingredients in the BALANCEFUL Serum, Control Serum and Cream. The brand's "5 types of centella" and its "5D Cica Complex" wording match that count.
Here are the five, exactly as they appear in the ingredient lists.
- Centella Asiatica Extract
- Madecassic Acid
- Asiaticoside
- Asiatic Acid
- Madecassoside
Other centella products in the range list the same group, sometimes with extra centella leaf or root extracts. Panthenol (vitamin B5) also appears in the serum, Control Serum and cream. The ingredient lists on this page come from Torriden's US website (torriden.us) and were checked on 19 October 2026. The pack sold in the UK may list them differently, so check the box before you buy.
An ingredient list is not a substitute for a patch test or medical advice. If you have a skin condition, ask your GP, a pharmacist or a dermatologist.
Serum vs Control Serum
They are two separate 50 ml products, not one product with two names. The Control Serum adds niacinamide and zinc PCA; the plain Serum does not contain niacinamide. In UK shops they are listed side by side at the same price.
On Superdrug's listings the Cica Serum is described as a "soothing serum with 5D cica complex" that helps balance excess sebum. The Control Serum is described as using niacinamide, zinc PCA and seven types of hyaluronic acid to calm redness, control excess sebum and minimise pores. We matched the UK names to the US pages by name and description; we could not check the UK formulas.
| Point | BALANCEFUL Serum | BALANCEFUL Control Serum |
|---|---|---|
| Size on torriden.us | 50 ml | 50 ml |
| Centella ingredients | All five listed | All five listed |
| Niacinamide | Not in the US list | Listed |
| Zinc PCA | Not in the US list | Listed |
| Capryloyl Salicylic Acid | Listed | Listed |
| Panthenol | Listed | Listed |
| Brand's wording | Calming serum for sensitive skin; non-comedogenic | Controls excess sebum; calming; non-comedogenic |
| UK price on 19 Oct 2026 | £20.50 at Superdrug and Pure Seoul | £20.50 at Superdrug and Pure Seoul |
In short: the Serum is the calming-first option, and the Control Serum is the one for people who want niacinamide in the same step. Capryloyl Salicylic Acid is a mild exfoliating acid, so patch test either one if your skin reacts easily.
Is BALANCEFUL for Oily or Acne-Prone Skin?
The brand positions the Serum, Control Serum, Cream and Cleansing Gel for sensitive skin, and several products for oil balance. We cannot tell you the range will suit your skin, and a cosmetic cannot treat acne. If acne is persistent or painful, ask your GP, a pharmacist or a dermatologist.
What the brand says
- Serum, Control Serum and Cream: the brand describes them as "Non-Comedogenic" and gentle.
- Control Serum: the brand says it helps control excess sebum.
- Cleansing Gel: the brand says it helps balance excess oil for combination skin.
- Control Pack Cleanser: a sherbet-to-foam cleanser with exfoliating beads, per the brand.
"Non-comedogenic" is the brand's own claim on its US product pages; we have not seen independent evidence for it. For cream textures in the wider range, see Torriden creams compared.
The cleansers are the place to read the list: the Cleansing Gel and Cleansing Foam both list Rosemary Leaf Oil, and the Foam lists Salicylic Acid. Fragrance or Parfum does not appear in any of Torriden's US ingredient lists.
Does BALANCEFUL Contain Azelaic Acid?
Only two products do: the BALANCEFUL Azelaic Acid Mask and the Azelaic Acid Micropoint Spot Patch. The serums, Control Serum and cream do not list azelaic acid. In the UK shop lists we checked on 19 October 2026, we did not see either azelaic product.
- Azelaic Acid Mask (20 ml): a 10-minute sheet mask; the brand says it helps with oil balance and an even-looking tone. The US list includes Azelaic Acid and Potassium Azeloyl Diglycinate.
- Azelaic Acid Micropoint Spot Patch: the brand calls it "Expertly Engineered 7% Azelaic Synergy", with 209 micropoints. The US list includes Azelaic Acid and Potassium Azeloyl Diglycinate.
The "7%" is the brand's wording for the formula, not a stated share of azelaic acid, so do not read it as a percentage. If you are looking for azelaic acid for a skin concern, a pharmacist or GP can advise on suitable products. For masks and patches across Torriden, see the Torriden masks and patches guide.
Toner, Cleansers and Masks in the Range
Beyond the serums and cream, BALANCEFUL has exfoliating toner products, three cleansers and several masks. The exfoliating ones list mild acids, so introduce them gradually.
| Product | Size (torriden.us) | Notable ingredients in the US list | Brand's description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Toner Pad | 180 ml | Gluconolactone, Capryloyl Salicylic Acid, Witch Hazel Extract | Daily pad with LHA and PHA for sensitive skin |
| Peeling Toner | 250 ml | Gluconolactone, Betaine Salicylate, Lactic Acid, Capryloyl Salicylic Acid, Niacinamide | Gentle exfoliating toner; blend of 5 acids |
| Cleansing Gel | 200 ml | Capryloyl Salicylic Acid, Ceramide NP, Rosemary Leaf Oil | Soft gel with dense foam for combination skin |
| Cleansing Foam | 150 ml | Salicylic Acid, Gluconolactone, Rosemary Leaf Oil | Low-irritant foam for clogged pores |
| Control Pack Cleanser | 120 g | Capryloyl Salicylic Acid, Ceramide NP, Iron Oxides | Sherbet-to-foam pack cleanser with exfoliating beads |
| Mask | 25 ml | Centella group, Panthenol, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid | Daily soothing sheet mask |
| Control Mask | 24 ml | Niacinamide, Panthenol, centella group | Calming mask for sensitive skin |
The brand says the Toner Pad has an embossed pad surface and the Peeling Toner smooths rough texture. For other pads and toners, read the Torriden toner and pad guide, and for the other cleansers see Torriden cleansers explained.
If your skin is easily irritated, the guide to Torriden for sensitive skin explains what the ingredient lists do and do not show.
